Meet the Pilot
Jason D Boucher
Jason caught his love of ballooning when he was in his teens by chasing his father Andre. Do you remember the 80s and early 1990s he actually loved the challenge of finding and trying to assist his father for landings not as easy as you might think Communication was by two way radio no cell phones directions was by paper maps not by satellite gps tracking was just from visual not phone to phone up to date location speed and direction so yes it was challenging and you had a sense of accomplishment if you found a darn balloon let alone try to beat him to landing he really enjoyed the chasing and had only taken one flight lesson touching the burner and had no desire in piloting an aircraft without a steering wheel or engine. It was not until the day he was told he would never be apart of his father's ballooning business since he was challenged he turned to his dad it's a dad I want my license and he said okay so in the fall of 2004 his journey started and in only 6 short months had gathered enough experience to be able to do his solo balloon flight in March of 2005 then two months later in May he became a private pilot so why not wait another two months later after continuously learning and giving lessons he became a commercial hot air balloon pilot of July 10 short months from when he first started getting his lessons and you know what almost 20 years later he continues to learn and soak in whatever knowledge is available to him
